Wonder what you think: I always feel that Sense and Sensibility lacks the sentence-by-sentence fire of Austen's other works, so I actually prefer Northanger Abbey. The first half of Persuasion, which I believe was written before she got sick, to me is supreme (even though the letter scene at the end is absolute peak from character/narrative point of view). I think the Emma Thompson/Ang Lee movie is actually better than the book!
In any case, as a Custom of the Country advocate, I salute you!
navigated all the way from my email to the app just to give this a like ♥️ so well done!
thank you!!!
This is the best thing I’ve read this year
I wrote about Kate Winslet this week too!!

Where, you ask?
Have you noticed... in P&P, S&S, E, and P, when the lovers finally breakthrough, Jane hides their conversation?
Where? Behind closed doors.
