"I think many people who pursue mindfulness confront this at some part of their journey: the actual work of living that needs to be done. Where am I going to live? Who am I going to love? What am I going to work on?" YES. This resonates so much. Currently living out these questions as we speak, which, for me, means stepping away from the written word more often.

i feel like “choosing the real world” is such a big theme across miyazaki’s films - spirited away comes to mind (ofc). i wonder if he always sensed what was coming - an era where we seem to be falling endlessly (and perhaps inevitably) into the virtual and non-real.

“It’s been difficult, sitting with the weight of my own life, the power I have over my choices. If I don’t like where I am, I can just move.”

I love this!! As a 22 yo going through major changes in life, I’ve been discovering that I can choose things instead of following a supposedly efficient life script developed by humanity (like being productive and becoming rich lol)

Deep work and becoming more aware of reality have been great and this text has reminded be of many reflections from this last year!! Lovely as always Ava ✨

I feel Mindfulness in the antithetical quality to all the programming of the world- to be always on your next move, the item on the checklist hurrying to but it's equal in parts, a delightful deliciousness and a terror to sit with u certainty till it settles.
