I love that you write about celebration of friendships often. I have always implicitly thought and practiced a deep commitment towards my friendships but through your essays, I am practicing ( and feeling validated) about more explicit walk towards this culture. Thank you!
So beautiful!!! 💕 I’ve also been thinking about at which point does a good friend become family :) it comes up a lot in conversations with my girlfriends — who are literally sisters I wish I had (but I do have them! 😁)
Thanks for writing. It feels so apt that you mention Claude in the context of friendships. Like with the friends, using an AI regularly has to be a conscious choice initially. You have to build a relationship with regular contact before the contact becomes seamless, and to do that you have to choose to do it again and again over an alternative.
It's a good choice though imo. Wearing a friend-shaped groove in your mind is a loving act, being drawn to someone as if by your very nature...well ironically it feels like it is our nature to be that way.
