FWIW, I was diagnosed 11 years ago with ADHD. What worked amazingly well for me (YMMV) was amino acid supplements, with a Vitamin-B complex. Acetyl-l-carnitine for the ADHD, and 5-htp for the sensitivity, 100-200 mg/day (varies a lot from person to person). Totally changed my life--my income freaking tripled, moved to a job that fulfills my values, etc.

Can you provide a list off all the direct brands you are using?

Jarrow for the aminos and Vitamin Code for the vitamins. Generally I stick with Jarrow. I recommend you read the following book, new or used or from the library: https://www.amazon.com/Healing-ADD-Revised-Breakthrough-Program/dp/0425269973

Thank you for the prompt reply, I appreciate it immensely, honestly I am anxiously looking towards a tripled income life changing experience once I start medication-protocols.

If you can afford it or insurance covers it, go to the Amen clinic. Expensive but worth it!

Not in the US so cannot go, I know about it and know somewhat the protocols they employ to get you healthy, did you go?? Ill read the book for sure.

I did go. The biggest piece was not the brain scan or history that they took, but the advice about doses. They recommended meds, but I'd had side effects in the past, so they suggested the aminos, because those had worked in lower doses for me in the past.

No guarantees, but it worked for me. I’m male, 200 lbs, and took about 200 mg of the 5htp and about 200 mg of the acetyl l carnitine. Read the book! You may neeed something different.

"I struggle quite a lot with this idea that if I’d lived 50yrs ago, the world would have been more understanding and tolerant of my natural state, and id be less able and less needing of treatment; that today I’m living an unnatural life, even if it is more capable."

Would it, though? Is it true for most mental issues (including the less severe ones)? Maybe the environment would be less punishing to your attention ( e.g. no Internet), maybe your social role would not demand that much from you (a job in a unionized sector of the economy?), but would people be more understanding? Were they of, say, autism? And wouldn’t your struggles be said to be laziness or unwillingness to conform?
